Downright will be performing at Workplay
in an exciting show to raise money for charity on Friday, September 7th
at 7pm. For those of you who aren’t already mindless devotees of this
dynamic band, it exists as the brainchild of Messrs Matthew DeVine and
Steve Lewis, guys who ooze musicality--and other less savory
things--out of every pore in their lanky bodies. Supported by longtime
co-conspirators (the even lankier) Michael Glaser on drums and, in a
brief, powerful guest appearance, Chad Fisher and Omari Thomas as the
famed “Dammittohell Horns”, Downright is back for ONE NIGHT ONLY! But
wait; there's more! Like a baby at its mother's breast, Downright will
be nestled between incredible performances by the best DJ's in
Birmingham, some of whom will storm the Downright stage for a
never-before-seen musical odyssey/extravaganza. But wait; there's more!
Call 1-800-KNIFE-ME right now and you'll also receive a charming yet
practical set of Ginsu® knives . . .

The
soulful funk of Downright has been compared to a steaming goulash of
equal parts Zappa, Sun Ra and Talking Heads with a pinch of The Meters
and a dash of The Beatles. Mmmmm. Downright delicious. P.S.: Rumor has
it that the group will be offering preview performances of tunes from
their upcoming album, Guerrilla, and pre-release CD’s just might be
available as giveaways. P.S.S.: is an illegitimate addendum.
